WHAT HAPPENED IN VEGAS

Sunday, June 12, 2016

As many of you know. I've spent the whole of May in the U.S! Four days in Vegas for my brothers wedding, and the rest of the time spent in California. I took as many photos as I could throughout my whole holiday. So over the next few weeks I'm going to be making posts about my time there, and also sharing the many things I purchased and came home with. This first post - as you have probably already guessed - is going to be about my short time in Las Vegas.

We stayed in the Stratosphere hotel, that is located right at the very end of the Vegas strip. We arrive in at around 7pm (PT) and went almost immediately straight to sleep. It might be the city that never sleeps, but considering I had been up for nearly an entire day. Sleeping seemed like the most perfect idea! The next morning we woke early, to a beautiful day. The weather couldn't have been more perfect; bright blue sky and constant sunshine. We quickly got breakfast and headed down the strip to see what we could, in the little time we had.

On the first day we only really made it as far down as Caesars Place, then we walked back up the other side. Most of our time was spent trying out what the hotels had to offer with buffets, and trying hard not to get sunburnt. Sadly I never got to look around in any shops, as most of our time was spent travelling around the strip. At this point in the day, the temperature had reached well over 30 degrees. Even though I made sure to apply my factor 50 religiously, it was extremely hot for me and it was important to keep out of the direct sun as much as I could.

At this point in the day (around 3pm) We decided to head back to the hotel to cool down and have a nap. The heat was getting to all of us, and I for one, was starting to get very "tangry"! We organised to meet again at night to have dinner, and see more of the strip at night.

We decided to go to the Paris hotel for dinner, and along the way discovered what looked like Marilyn in the crowd. I couldn't catch up with her to meet her, so I only have these quick blurry photos of her back. Whoever she was, it would've been lovely to have actually met her and got a good photo to do her imitation justice.

We headed back to the hotel before it got too late, as we were all exhausted!
The following day was my brothers wedding. The wedding being the main reason we even came to Vegas. Thankfully it was yet again a beautiful day, but not quite as ridiculously hot as the day before. Just as well, or my face would've matched the colour of my bridesmaids dress, haha! The wedding was held at The Chapel of Flowers, and it couldn't have been a better day. Everything went so smoothly and I sobbed like I thought I would. We got lots of photographs and spent the entire day beaming with happiness, over the joy of the newly weds.

Pictured here:
My cousin; Maureen. My sister; Kirsty. My now sister-in-law; Kimberley
My niece; Lola. My brother; Kieren, and me.

The day after the wedding was pretty mellow. The weather was dramatically cloudier and chillier. But we didn't let that dampen our mood. For the whole time we were visiting, there was an amazing pink Cadillac parked right across the street at the Little Vegas Chapel. Low and below, the day I was able to go and get a photo of it.. it was gone! Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to get photos at the Chapel anyway.

Finally we checked out of our hotel, hopped in the hire car (Which was beast of a car! It fitted all 8 of us!) and begun our four hour long road trip to CALIFORNIA!

Stay tuned for my next post coming soon, where I'll talk about my time in California!
